Just down the road from us in Rotherham, Trelleborg’s design and manufacturing centre makes composite bearings and wear rings for specialist markets such as marine, hydro and tidal power.
It’s specialist work that’s heavily reliant on air compressor power, and we were tasked with completing a major service on the plant’s Hertz 45kw air compressor.
During the service, our engineers identified an oil leak on the airend seal, so we reported on that and will be addressing that shortly too.
Now, the compressor is good to go for another 2,000 hours of work.

This is a good example of the value of regular servicing. We were able to spot the leak before it had a chance to become more serious, and before it had a chance to cause a breakdown.
Because the very worst thing for any manufacturer, is unexpected downtime and lost production.
