Ready for the Robot: Partitioning to Support Chaneco

Air compressors are our speciality. But when our regular clients need a little more, we’re always happy to help.

The client:

Chaneco is the Dronfield-based business that helps create sustainable employment opportunities for people with complex barriers to work.

If you’ve had a spinal injury, for example, a Chaneco body jacket may provide the support to enable you to return to work. If you live with limb injuries, Chaneco’s braces, splints and other orthotics may give you the support and freedom you need.

The challenge

Many of Chaneco’s orthotic products are tailored to the individual. The company is about to welcome a new robot to deliver the sort of next generation CAD scanning and cutting capability that will ensure each device is the perfect fit for its owner.

Chaneco needed to create the right space for the robot. As a longstanding Algar Air customer, they knew our capabilities extended beyond air compressor servicing and maintenance, and they asked us to build and fit out a new, partitioned area.

In addition to the new wall and door, we added electrics and painted the new room from floor to ceiling. You can see the results in the attached images.

We were asked to find a way to resolve the issue. (See how we got on).

The response

Chaneco were delighted with the new space (and the speed with which we were able to put it together). It’s now ready for the arrival of the robot.

Simone Kidd, Managing Director of Algar Air said: “We’ve spent years designing and installing compressed air systems for customers, and that has often involved building partitioned rooms in which to house large compressors, together with pipework, ducting and electrics.

“So when those customers want to carry out other modifications to their workspaces, they know we have the full range of skills needed. This sort of partitioning project isn’t the core of the business and it’s not something we tend to promote too often, but it’s very much within our range of capabilities.”
