It’s all too easy to find your air compressor setup getting a bit messy. What starts simply gets a bit more complicated as you add separators, dryers and more. And as you add elements here and there, you’ll often find the pipes running between them tend to take on a life of their own.

Of course, you don’t need your compressor setup to look gorgeous. But unnecessary or tangled pipes and hoses can affect flow and pressure. That can reduce compressor efficiency and increase operating costs. All of which can be a problem for any business.

So when we replaced the air compressor for Sheffield’s Shaw Print Services, we took the opportunity to create a tidier, more organised set up too.

Finding opportunities in air compressor replacement

You probably know that as cars get older, they lose horsepower. It’s the same with air compressors.

An old air compressor will gradually become less effective at compressing air. So you’ll either burn more energy to achieve the same result, or your compressor just won’t generate the oomph it once did.

So replacing an old compressor for a new one – even if the specs of the two are much the same – will still mean a significant increase in performance.
