Which Air Compressor Do I Need For An Airbrush?
There are some simple but crucial differences between a regular air compressor and an air brush compressor. So if you’re planning on using air power for air brushing, here are some things to consider.
Whether you’re choosing a regular air compressor with holding tank or an air compressor designed specifically for air brushing applications, you’ll have plenty of choice. Inevitably, that means this page can only talk generally, so if you’d like to explore your specific needs in greater detail, call us on 0114 243 2347.
Air brushing or air brushing+?
When choosing your air compressor in Chesterfield, there’s one very simple question to determine the outcome. What do you plan on doing with it? If its only air brushing, you can use either a regular or air brushing air compressor.
If air brushing is just one of the applications you’ll need your air compressor to cope with, then only a regular air compressor will be up to the task, because an airbrushing compressor simply won’t have the oomph to power other air tools.
Noise & weight
Air brush compressors are typically lower powered than their larger counterparts, and that means they run more quietly and are far more portable than standard air compressors.
Oil & water
The reduced power of an airbrushing compressor tends to mean fewer problems with moisture. Whilst you can use standard air compressors for your Chesterfield airbrushing applications, be aware that the greater power will produce greater pressure, which in turn will generate more moisture within the system. If it uses oil coolant, there may also be oil vapour to contend with. Both oil and water could damage your airbrush finish.
That’s not necessarily a reason not to choose an industrial air compressor in Chesterfield, but if you do, be aware that you’ll need some form of inline filtration and/or dryers to remove contaminants.
