There’s been a slight change to the way we manage written schemes of examination to help you meet your requirements under the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR 2000).

If you’re a business that uses compressed air, you’ll be familiar with the PSSR 2000. That’s the set of rules for the design, use and maintenance of pressure systems, and it’s why you need a written scheme of examination (WSE) to show that you’re complying with those rules.
If you’ve always felt the PSSR were just another example of red tape designed to annoy you (and we speak to plenty of people who feel that way), we’d urge you to think again. As examples like this one we came across a few years back show, a WSE can reveal dangerous practice you may not even be aware of – and that can save reputations and lives.
WSE changes at Algar Air
If you’ve used us for WSEs over the past few years, you’ll notice a slight change in the way we do things when your next WSE is due.
Your testing will be carried out by Stephen Algar, our Engineering Director, a PressureSafe Approved Inspector, who’ll then have his results verified by our CEng-certified partner Mandate Systems. That will result in a dual WSE (there’s an example of the certificate below (link opens PDF)) and give you the reassurance of two-stage testing and verification.
The outcome? Our most rigorous WSE system yet.
